Significant changes were made to the underlying architecture of IBackup accounts
starting 8-10-2011. This page describes the significant aspects of the earlier architecture and provides information on how to refer to the earlier architecture related description.
Encryption
Secure data transfer using 128-bit SSL technology and optional 256-bit proprietary encryption on storage. Data resides on RAID-protected industry leading NAS/SAN storage devices with multiple levels of redundancy. Also, regular backups of your data are maintained on separate RAID-protected devices, to quickly recover from any software or hardware failures.
Snapshot
Retain
earlier file copies via Snapshots technology. Snapshots are point-in-time images
of your files at a particular time, everyday. IBackup attempts to retain Snapshots for the last 10 days so you can recover
prior versions saved in previous days. The additional storage required for snapshots would have no impact on your account's storage space.
IBackup
Drive
Map your online storage account as a virtual folder on your computer, allowing you to drag and drop, open, edit and save files in your online backup account, as though it were on your local machine.
Note: Versioning, 256-bit AES encryption, Trash and Continuous Data Protection features are supported only for the
accounts created on or after 8-10-2011.
